Osy Ikhile and Frank Dillane have joined the cast of IN THE HEART OF THE SEA, with Ben Whishaw confirmed. The story follows the twenty-one crew members of a whaling boat who resort to extreme measures in order to survive after their ship is attacked by a giant whale in 1820. Whishaw will play Herman Melville while Ikhile and Dillane will play sailors.
The cast already includes Chris Hemsworth, Tom Holland, Benjamin Walker, Cillian Murphy, Brendan Gleeson and Sam Keeley.
Charles Leavitt penned the latest draft for the project based on the book–of the same name–by Nathaniel Philbrick. Ron Howard (“Beautiful Mind”, “Rush”) will direct while Paula Weinstein, Joe Roth, Will Ward and Brian Grazer produce.
Ikhile was seen in 2011’s “Victim,” while Dillane has appeared in “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” and “Papadopoulos & Sons.”
Dillane is repped by WME.
