Starz has released the first trailer for Season 3 of OUTLANDER, teasing a rough road ahead for star-crossed lovers Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire (Caitriona Balfe).
In the 20th Century, Claire has just delivered baby Brianna (Sophie Skelton) and agreed to raise the child with her ex-husband Frank (Tobias Menzies). However, that’s not an easy thing since she’s clearly still very much in love with Jamie, the husband she left behind in 18th Century Scotland.
For twenty years, Claire thinks Jamie died in the Battle of Colludon, but as we saw in the Season 2 finale, Jamie actually survived, giving Claire, a grown up Brianna and Roger Wakefield (Richard Rankin) a new mission – to find Jamie in the past so Claire can return to him.
Meanwhile, Jamie hasn’t had it so easy in the 18th Century either, despite surviving the war that should have killed him.
Outlander Season 3 is based on the novel Voyager by Diana Gabaldon, the third installment in her bestselling fantasy romance series.
Ronald D. Moore, Maril Davis, Matthew B. Roberts, Toni Graphia, Anne Kenney and Andy Harries serve as executive producers of “Outlander,” which is produced by Tall Ship Productions, Story Mining & Supply Company and Left Bank Pictures in association with Sony Pictures Television.
Outlander will return Sunday, September 10 at 8 p.m. ET on Starz.
