Paradigm is on a roll this summer as they hit the town with their latest prospect GLASS (STARNES) from Calvin Starnes. Paradigm’s David Boxerbaum is taking the script out to select producers with Circle Of Confusion’s Ashley Berns. As of Thursday, the spec had already hit a dozen territories with some huge names circling, including Ron Howard, who may be eyeing to direct.
The story is inspired and based on the true story of the Pink Panther gang who performed audacious jewel heists around the world.
Starnes is no stranger to the heist genre having previously set up his script The Perfect Heist at Di Bonaventura and Screen Gems, who also picked up his first script, Until Death.
This is Paradigm’s second big spec hitting the market in recent weeks with Boxerbaum also behind the comedy Besties which wound up at DreamWorks and Montecito Picture Company with a deal in the mid-six figures. Boxerbaum and Berns also took out the horror spec Mary from Anthony Jaswinski which landed at Tooley Productions.
We’re now hearing that Ridely Scott’s Scott Free has taken this for Fox 2000, Lionsgate, and EOne, and has teamed up with Shawn Levy’s 21 Laps to take this into Fox. Escape Artists has this for Sony and TriStar, while DeLine has this for New Line and STX. Imagine is taking this into Universal – with Ron Howard circling to possibly direct.
