Paramount is in talks to acquire Martin Scorsese’s pet project SILENCE. Based on the book of the same name, the project centers on Jesuits who take on the dangerous task of bringing Christianity to Japan. Andrew Garfield, Ken Watanabe, Adam Driver, and Liam Neeson have all signed on for the project, which Scorsese wrote with Jay Cocks. Emmett/Furla/Oasis is producing.
Paramount has been on board for Scorsese’s last three films: “Shutter Island,” “Hugo,” and “The Wolf of Wall Street.”
