“Paranormal Activity” Writers Developing Haunted House Drama at NBC

The Paranormal Activity franchise took the horror world by storm, for better or worse, when the first installment premiered nearly a decade ago in 2007. Now, and , writers from the fifth installment of the franchise, are taking their horror interests to the small screen with at NBC.

Based on the short story The House on Ashley Avenue by Ian Rogers, the procedural drama is set to follow a High-Risk Claims Department who focuses on insuring haunted houses. When the founder of the department dies, the rest of the team must work on finding eight haunted properties across North America which are connected by a mysterious and powerful force.

It definitely sounds like it’s in the wheelhouse of Paranormal Activity.

Pagan and Deutschman will produce alongside Roy Lee and Michael Connolly of Vertigo Entertainment.

The writers also wrote the feature film Project Almanac and are currently working on a draft of Lockdown for Columbia, as well as a pitch, titled Raindrop, which is at Paramount.
