The Launch Pad Manuscript Competition Presents…
Title: PASCAL LE PIGLET – TRUFFLE HUNTER EXTRAORDINAIRE / HEAD OF THE PIGLET RESISTANCE
Logline: After an invading army captures their parents, a group of young French animals form a resistance to fight back and rescue them.
Pitch: FANTASTIC MR. FOX meets REDWALL
Writer: Sebastian Loden
Genre: Animation | Family | War
Why to Read: The first installment in a terrific children’s book series or film franchise, this manuscript is unbelievably cute and fun, while still telling an important story from history. The fact that it’s a direct allegory for the French resistance in WWII is especially compelling, because it’s a part of history that many Americans aren’t overly familiar with, meaning that children and their parents will both have something to learn as they read. Pascal’s struggle is relatable, and the characters are all lovable, while still remaining distinct. The tongue-in-cheek writing is enjoyable and packed with fun animal puns. This is THE WIND AND THE WILLOWS for a new generation.
