Netflix’s political drama HOUSE OF CARDS has added Patricia Clarkson and Campbell Scott for Season Five. Details of their roles are being kept under wraps though they will feature prominently in the season.
The show stars Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright as political couple, Frank and Claire Underwood, through their rise to power. Season four took a turn in the relationship with the pair as Claire worked her way to equal footing with her husband. The casting announcement is the first big news about the series since earlier this year when creator Beau Willimon exited and was replaced as showrunner by staff writers Melissa James Gibson and Frank Pugliese.
Clarkson was last seen in theaters in Maze Runner: Scorch Trials. Her previous credits include Pieces of April, for which she was nominated for an Academy Award, HBO’s Six Feet Under, and The Green Mile.
Scott has previously appeared in the television series Royal Pains and FX’s Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll, and the films The Amazing Spider-Man 2.
