In the same vein as Strangers on a Train, The Commuter tells the story of a mysterious woman (Farmiga) that makes an offer to an insurance salesman (Neeson) to uncover the identity of a passenger before the train’s last stop. Wilson is set to play a key role as the salesman’s trusted friend who helps him along the way. The movie also stars Sam Neill, Elizabeth McGovern, and Jonathan Banks.
Jaume Collet-Serra, who worked with Neeson on numerous movies including Non-Stop, is directing the script by Philip de Blasi and Byron Willinger. Andrew Rona and Alex Heineman from The Picture Company are set to produce. Lionsgate has slated a U.S. release date for October 13, 2017.
In addition to The Conjuring franchise, Wilson appeared in the latest season of FX’s Fargo. He can be seen next in The Founder opposite Michael Keaton.
