Three international stars have signed on to Paul Feig’s upcoming comedy SPY. Bollywood star Nargis Fakhri, British comedian Peter Serafinowicz and Swede Björn Gustafsson will star opposite some serious talent, including Melissa McCarthy, Jason Statham and Jude Law. The project follows McCarthy as Susan Cooper, a James Bond-esque spy who goes into the field to find the person who killed her lover. No word yet on the specific roles the newcomers will be playing.
Fakhri is best known in Bollywood circles from “RockStar” and “Madras Cafe.” Gustafsson has had a number of roles in Swedish films that you could never pronounce (Kronjuvelerna?) as well as a few you can like the comedies “Tina & Bettina – The Movie” and “Cockpit.” This will be the first Hollywood project for Fakhri and Gustafsson.
Serafinowicz is a little more well known on this side of the pond, with roles in “Shaun of the Dead” and “Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace.” He’ll next appear in Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy.”
Fakhri is repped by DAA Management. Serafinowicz is at UTA and Principato-Young. Gustafsson is repped by WME.
