Veteran comedian Paul Reiser is the latest actor to join the cast of Sony’s UNTITLED RIDLEY SCOTT SPORTS CONCUSSIONS PROJECT. The sports drama will explore the effects concussions are having on sports players and the league owners who stand by while it happens. Will Smith stars as a neuropathologist who is investigating the growing issue, while Reiser has been cast as Dr. Elliott Pellman, the chairman of the NFL’s medical committee. Alec Baldwin, Albert Brooks, and Gugu Mbatha-Raw round out the cast.
Reiser got his start in Hollywood in Barry Levinson’s “Diner,” before going on to roles in the “Beverly Hills Cop” franchise. Reiser became a household name, however, while starring in NBC’s comedy “Mad About You” with Helen Hunt. More recently, Reiser has appeared in Damien Chazelle’s “Whiplash” and the zombie comedy “Life After Beth” with Aubrey Plaza. Next up, Reiser will star in “6 Miranda Drive” with Kevin Bacon.
Reiser is repped by Gersh and New Wave Entertainment.
