Paul Rudd and William Hurt have been officially announced to reprise their Marvel universe characters in CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR. Rudd will first be seen as the character of Ant-Man in the upcoming stand alone film. Hurt previously portrayed General Thaddeus Ross in the 2008 entry The Incredible Hulk. The film has recently been bulking up the all-star cast, with Sherlock star Martin Freeman signing on earlier this week. Elizabeth Olsen was recently announced to be returning as Scarlet Witch. Robert Downey Jr. will also co-star as Iron Man, with Scarlett Johansson returning as Black Widow. Emily VanCamp will also reprise her role as Kate from Captain America: Winter Soldier.
The film will also introduce the new Spider-Man, who is currently being cast. Joe and Anthony Russo are returning to direct the next installment. The studio made headlines by getting the second largest opening weekend of all time with Avengers: Age Of Ultron, which is only behind the first Avengers.
Known for roles in I Love You, Man and Role Models, Rudd has starred in the Anchorman films and is set to reprise his role as Andy in the Netflix series Wet Hot American Summer: First Day Of Camp.
Known for his roles in Into The Wild and Dark City, Hurt has been seen in the film A.I. Artificial Intelligence and recently played a role on the television series Humans.
Hurt is repped by ICM.
