Paul Thomas Anderson’s tentatively titled THE MASTER has brought on Laura Dern, David Warshofsky and Jesse Plemons for starring roles. The religious drama follows a young drifter who becomes a student of a charismatic intellectual (Philip Seymour Hoffman) whose faith-based organization begins to catch on in America in 1952. Plemons will play Dodd’s son, and Warshofsky will play a detective. The feature is set up at The Weinstein Company and is produced JoAnne Sellar, John Lesher, Bill Pohlad and Megan Ellison.
Plemons and Warshofsky are repped by TalentWorks with Plemons managed by Simmons & Scott Entertainment and Warshofsky by Patty Woo Management. Dern is repped by CAA and Untitled Entertainment.
