The series starring Eva Green and Josh Hartnett recently aired its two-hour season three finale which is ultimately the show’s finale which included the death of a major character.
Penny Dreadful‘s creator/showrunner John Logan said that it was his plan all along for the series to run for three seasons. The news comes shortly after the announcement of the cancellation of two other popular Showtime series, House of Lies which will end this month and Episodes which will air its final season in 2017.
In the wake of these cancellations, the premium cable channel has added a hefty roster of new shows to its lineup including Cameron Crowe’s Roadies, Patti Smith’s Just Kids, Purity starring Daniel Craig, the mini-series Guerilla with Idris Elba, Jim Carrey’s I’m Dying Up Here and the return of Twin Peaks.
