Hit List regular Chris Borrelli is setting up his next project as his latest spec BLU has attached Thor Freudenthal to direct the Tracking Board has exclusively learned. The story is described as I am Legend meets 28 Days Later.
When a 10-year-old, mildly autistic girl awakes one morning to find her family, neighbors, and entire town missing, she’s forced to embark on an epic journey where nothing is what it seems.
Blu is not currently set up at a studio but it won’t be long before someone snags this script considering Borrelli’s past performance. The scribe has appeared on the 2010, 2011, and 2012 Hit List in addition to the 2011 Young & Hungry List and 2009 Black List. He wrote this year’s Eloise and last year’s The Vatican Tapes.
Freudenthal has a history of working on projects with a young cast but they tend to have a lighter tone such as Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters and Diary of a Wimpy Kid. With Borrelli’s strength in horror and Freudenthal’s skills with young actors, the pairing could signal a dynamic new voice.
