Peter Sarsgaard is in negotiations to star opposite Natalie Portman in JACKIE as Robert Kennedy. Portman is set to star as the First Lady, in a film that follows Jackie Kennedy in the first days after the assassination of the president.
Pablo Larrain will direct with Darren Aronofsky producing with Scott Franklin at Protozoa Pictures and Juan de Dios Larrain of Fabula. Production is expected to begin at the end of this year. CAA is handling domestic rights for the project. Aronofsky and Portman notably worked together on Black Swan in a performance that earned Portman an Academy Award.
Sarsgaard was most recently seen in Pawn Sacrifice and Black Mass, and will next star in The Experimenter and the remake of The Magnificent Seven. He recently joined the cast of the highly anticipated reboot of David Lynch’s Twin Peaks.
Larrain previously directed No and The Club, and produced Nasty Baby which is currently receiving positive attention for the dramatic turn of its star, Kristen Wiig.
