Peyton Reed will direct THE FIFTH BEATLE, which follows the last six years of legendary Beatles manager Brian Epstein’s life. It’s based on the graphic novel (and the real life story obviously) by Vivek J. Tiwary. I haven’t read it but it seems like a story that could be pretty cool. It also looks like easy Oscar bait but that doesn’t mean it will be. Plus according to Badass Digest it’ll have access to the Beatles music. So, there’s that.
Tiwary also wrote the script and will produce alongside Carl Rumbaugh, Susan Batson, Jamie Zelermyer, Gary Kaplan, Sandy Stern and Bruce Cohen.
Reed last directed 2008’s “Yes Man” which was pretty much the same as 2008’s “Chaos Theory” but with Jim Carrey instead of Ryan Reynolds. Maybe he’s primed for a real movie!
He is repped by WME.
