It looks like the legal drama THE GOOD WIFE is continuing its high-profile castings with Kristen Chenoweth joining season four. In her recurring role, she will play a sharp political reporter, who matches wits with Julianne Margulies’ Alicia and Chris Noth’s Peter. Nathan Lane has also joined the series. Maura Tierney joined season four on Monday.
CSI: NY has recruited Rob Morrow for its ninth season. He will guest-star in the new season’s first two episodes as a previously convicted arsonist who has recently been released from prison. When a new rash of fires erupt across New York City, the NYPD and the CSIs turn to Morrow for help.
After negotiations that carried over past the network’s upfronts, sitcom RULES OF ENGAGEMENT has been renewed for a seventh season, with a 13-episode order.

Theatre veteran Andy Mientus will join the second season of the musical/drama SMASH, in a series regular role. He will play Kyle, a poor kid from Brooklyn with dreams of writing on Broadway. Kyle is also best friends with Jimmy, another season 2 addition to be played by Newsies‘ Tony-nominated Jeremy Jordan.
Actor/writer/producer/director BJ Novak has decided to not return full-time to THE OFFICE, which will enter its ninth season also without Mindy Kaling. Novak, however, is still scheduled to make guest appearances throughout the new season, and may also write and direct future episodes.
“Two And A Half Man” costar Marin Hinkle has landed a series regular role on the upcoming NBC drama INFAMOUS. Hinkle, who guest starred in the pilot of the mystery-drama, has been upped to a regular and will continue on the series, slated to launch in midseason.

“One Tree Hill” alum Robbie Jones has booked a three-episode arc on NECESSARY ROUGHNESS, playing the Hawks’ hot new star – a wide receiver who butts heads with Mehcad Brooks’. He will make his appearance in the second half of the second season.
Jose Zuniga (CSI) has landed a gig on this season of BURN NOTICE. He is set to play a Panamanian drug smuggler hell bent of locating a missing cocaine shipment by any means necessary.
