ABC is bringing in Gary Dourdan to recur in its midseason drama MISTRESSES, a soap about four women in various complex relationships. Dourdan will play a detective who investigates one of the main stars. This will be Dourdan’s first major television role since his eight-season starring role as Warrick Brown in “CSI”. Dourdan is repped by TalentWorks and Eclectic Pictures.

Ruben Santiago Hudson and Athena Karkanis have been added to the cast of the AMC drama pilot LOW WINTER SUN, a remake of the popular British series. Mark Strong is in negotiations to reprise his role as Detroit detective Frank Agnew, who murders a fellow cop and sets off forces that will forever alter his life. Hudson will play Lt. George Torrance, a veteran of the police force and commander of Agnew’s department. Karkanis is set to play Dani Kahlil, a fellow detective. Hudson previously appeared as a regular in CBS’s “Castle”, as well as playing supporting roles in the films “American Gangster” and “The Invention of Lying.” Karkanis is most widely known for her roles on the Canadian show “The Best Years” and for playing Agent Perez in the “Saw” franchise. Joe Manganiello will make a return to HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER for season 8, which is rumored to be its last. Manganiello has sporadically appeared as Marshall’s (Jason Segal) friend, Brad, on the popular sitcom since its second season and was last seen in season 5. His return fits with the return of several other prominent characters in the show’s history, which co-creator Craig Thomas says the show will continue to do as the show nears its end. Manganiello has starred on the wildly popular “True Blood” since 2010, and has also appeared in the successful films “Spider-Man” and “Magic Mike”. Manganiello is repped by CAA and Valeo Entertainment.

Aisha Hinds has been tapped for a multi-episode arc on the midseason drama CULT. She will play Rosleyn Sakelik, a well-known detective who is far more dangerous than anybody realizes. Hinds has starred in “Invasion” and “Detroit 1-8-7”, as well as played recurring roles in in “True Blood” and “Hawthorne”. Hinds is repped by Greene & Associates Talent Agency.

Anna Maria Horsford will guest star on the second season of NEW GIRL as Charmaine Bishop, Winston’s mother who raised all her children to play professional basketball and absolutely hates Schmidt. Horsford is best known for her regular role as Sherman Hemsley’s character’s daughter on the sitcom “Amen”. She also starred in the sitcom “The Wayans Bros.” and had a recurring role in “The Shield”. Horsford is repped by Innovative Artists and Lovett Management.
Saxon Sharbino and Greg Ellis will join TOUCH for its second season. Sharbino will become a series regular and play the specially gifted daughter of Maria Bello’s character. Sharbino appeared in the film “I Spit On Your Grave” and recently starred in “Rogue”, a drama pilot from Karyn Usher that Fox declined to pick up. She is repped by WME and ROAR. Ellis, who also co-starred in the “Rogue” pilot, will play play a journalist and an old friend of Martin (Kiefer Sutherland). Ellis has made appearances in the shows “24”, “Trust Me” and “Alcatraz.” He has also appeared in the “Pirates of the Caribbean” franchise and the “Star Trek” reboot. Sean Hayes is set to appear in a multi-episode arc on the next season of UP ALL NIGHT. Hayes will play Ava’s (Maya Rudolph) former accompanist from her past as an R&B singer. Hayes is widely known for his role as Jack McFarland on the hit sitcom “Will and Grace”, which garnered him an Emmy Award. He has also appeared on several hit NBC sitcoms, including “30 Rock”, “Scrubs” and “Parks and Recreation”. Hayes is repped by WME and Kapital Entertainment.
TV Land
Jay Harrington is scheduled to appear in a six-episode arc on the TV Land sitcom HOT IN CLEVELAND. He will play a romantic interest for Valerie Bertinelli’s character. Harrington is known for starring in the short-lived sitcom “Better Off Ted”, and he has also appeared in “Private Practice”, “Desperate Housewives”, and “Summerland”. Recently, he was seen in “American Reunion”, the latest entry in the “American Pie” franchise. Harrington is repped by ICM and A Management.
