Charles Robinson will join the cast of the comedy series REED BETWEEN THE LINES as Malcolm-Jamal Warner’s dad. Robinson starred in the popular ’80s sitcom “Night Court” and has since appeared in dozens of TV shows, most notably “Home Improvement” and “Love & War”. He is repped by Stone Manners Salners Agency and Tufeld Entertainment Group.
The cast is rounding out for BET’s new semi-improvised series THE REAL HUSBANDS OF HOLLYWOOD. Robin Thicke, J.B. Smoove, Boris Kodjoe, Duane Martin and Faizon Love are joining Nick Cannon, Nelly and Kevin Hart in the show that spoofs the “Real Housewives” franchise from a male point of view. Stan Lathan will direct and exec produce the series with showrunner Ralph Farquhar and Hart, Tim Gibbons, Dave Becky and Jessie Collins.
Tony Shalhoub has been added to the cast of EX-MEN, the single-camera comedy pilot from Rob Greenberg, which centers on a young man (Chris Smith) who learns about the ways of the world from the guys he meets in the short-term rental complex he moves in to. Shalhoub will play Frank, a guy who’s been divorced multiple times but still considers himself a ladies man. Kal Penn is also set to star in the show. CBS Studios and the Tannenbaum Company will produce the series. Shalhoub won three Emmy Awards for his portrayal of the eponymous character in “Monk”, and also starred in the sitcoms “Wings” and “Stark Raving Mad”. Shalhoub is repped by ICM.
Geoff Pierson is set to co-star in the multi-camera comedy BROTHERS-IN-LAW with Josh Cooke and Jay Mohr. The series focuses on Neil (Cooke) and Van (Mohr), the weird boyfriend of his wife’s sister, as they try to get along. Pierson will play Tom, the women’s father, who instantly gets along with Van but dislikes Neil. Pierson had recent arcs in “Boardwalk Empire”, “Dexter” and “The Firm”, and also appeared in the films “Changeling”, “Get Smart” and “J. Edgar”. He is repped by Stone Manners Salners Agency.
