Kevin Sussman is now being upped to regular for the massive hit THE BIG BANG THEORY. Sussman plays Stuart, the owner of the comic book store where the show’s main characters hang out. Though Sussman likely won’t appear in every episode, he will be credited as a regular in every episode he appears, the same deal that Mayim Bialik and Melissa Rauch currently have. Sussman was a regular on “Ugly Betty” and just completed an arc on “Weeds”. He is repped by APA and The Group Entertainment.
FOX
Justin Bieber is headed to Springfield, where he will make a cameo appearance as himself on an episode of THE SIMPSONS. In the show, the pop star will try to land a spot in a talent show but the show’s producers don’t want him. This will mark Bieber’s first voice over for an animated series, and his first role in a series since doing two episodes of “CSI” in 2010-2011. He is repped by CAA.
IFC
Chloe Sevigny will appear in an episode of PORTLANDIA as a new roommate for main characters Carrie and Fred. Sevigny has been nominated for an Academy Award for supporting role in “Boys Don’t Cry” and starred in the HBO series “Big Love”, for which she won a Golden Globe. She is repped by WME and Brillstein Entertainment.
NBC
Maulik Pancholy is leaving WHITNEY after appearing as a regular for its first season. He will, however, be rejoining the cast of 30 ROCK, where he played Jack’s (Alec Baldwin) assistant for five seasons before joining “Whitney”. Pancholy’s exit is being described as part of a creative overhaul brought about by new showrunner Will Calhoun. Pancholy has previously completed arcs on “Web Therapy” and “Weeds”. He is repped by Don Buchwald and Associates and Brillstein Entertainment.
