Maya Rudolph and Jaden Smith have been cast in the BROTHERS IN ATLANTA pilot, written by Diallo Riddle and Bashir Salahuddin and executive produced by SNL impresario Lorne Michaels. The comedy stars Riddle and Salahuddin as struggling entertainers and best friends Langston (Riddle) and Moose (Salahuddin) trying to navigate relationships and life in the black Mecca of Atlanta. Rudolph will play Shirle, an R&B diva whose heyday was in the 90s. She is repped by WME and 3 Arts Entertainment. Smith is set to play Curtis, a “New Atlanta” teenager. He is repped by Paradigm.
Millie Brady has been cast as the lead in THE CLAN OF THE CAVE BEAR. Based on Jean M. Auel’s novel, the drama is 25,000 years ago during a time when Neanderthals existed with the first early modern humans and follows a band of cave dwellers who adopt a blond and blue-eyed Ayla (Brady), a child of the “Others.” Brady is repped by the Independent Talent Group. The adaptation comes from Fox 21 TV Studios and Lionsgate TV, Imagine TV, and Allison Shearmur Prods.
John Leguizamo will star in TAXI-22. The comedy, based on French Canadian series, follows a politically incorrect NYC cab driver (Leguizamo). Created by Seth MacFarlane Jonathan Ames, the series follows Walter Blunt (Patrick Stewart), an infrequently sober but legendary British import intent on conquering the world of American cable news. Adam Scott will guest star on Parks and Rec pal Rashida Jones’ comedy ANGIE TRIBECA, a parody of police procedurals. Scott has been cast as a doctor who Tribeca (Jones) encounters in a waiting room while she awaits news on her partner’s condition. Scott is repped by WME and Mosaic.
