Annie Potts and John Carroll Lynch will join Fortune Feimster in the comedy pilot FAMILY FORTUNE. The project, from Matt Hubbard, Tina Fey and Robert Carlock, is based on the family life and stand-up of Feimster and focuses on her life as she announces to her family that she is gay. Potts will play her needy and egotistical mother while Lynch will play her tough-to-crack father. Potts is repped by Innovative Artists and Untitled Entertainment. Lynch is repped by Suskin Management.
Albert Tsai has been cast in the multi-camera medical comedy DR. KEN , starring Ken Jeong. Jeong plays a frustrated doctor balancing marriage, fatherhood, and his job. Tsai will play Jeong’s son. Tsai is repped by Coast to Coast Talent Group and Treadwell Entertainment Group.
Jay R. Ferguson will star in the UNTITLED DAN SAVAGE COMEDY PILOT. Loosely based on the life of gay activist and author Dan Savage, the single-camera project centers on the O’Neals, a seemingly perfect All-American family. When the youngest son comes out, all the family secrets are revealed and the family proves to be quite typical and not so perfect. Ferguson will play Pat O’Neal, the father, a good-natured cop with the Chicago police department. Paradigm and Wishlab rep him.
Camille Guaty will join the dramedy pilot MIX, as a series regular. The series explores the realities of modern-day families — multi-cultural, multi-generational, built through divorces, affairs and adoptions — set against the backdrop of a revered family restaurant at a crossroads. Guaty will play the eldest child in her family Lola, a perfectionist model-turned-photographer whose judgmental attitude keeps others at bay. She resents her younger half-sister Remy and devotes her energies to raising her recently adopted 9-year-old Ethiopian son. She’s repped by APA and Impression.
Lenny Venito and Sahr Ngaujah have rounded out the cast of TAXI-22. Venito will play Dean, the owner of the Yellow Cab Garage. Ngaujah will play Valentine, the Nigeran cab driver show shares a love hate relationship with his co-worker. Jennifer Espoito, Rebecca Creskoff, F. Murray Abraham, and Christopher Nicolas Smith are also all set to make guest starring appearances on the show. Venito is repped by Abrams Artists Agency. Ngaujah is repped by Paradigm and Van Johnson Company.
Thomas Sadoski is set as a lead LIFE IN PIECES. Angelique Cabral has also been cast. The series follows one family, the Shorts, and is told through separate stories following different family members. Sadoski stars as middle sibling Matt Short, who can never seem to catch a break, with a failed career that has forced him back home. Cabral plays Colleen, who Matt has just fallen in love with, and is stuck in a messy breakup with her ex-fiancé. Cabral is repped by Pakula/King. Sadoski is repped by UTA and Industry Entertainment.
Jenna Elfman and Matt Letscher will star in the UNTITLED DANA KLIEN COMEDY PILOT. The pilot is told from the perceptive of Ellen (Elfman), a working mother in competition with her perfect housewife sister-in-law. Ellen’s husband (Letscher) is an intelligent and responsible professor with a very strict moral code. Elfman is repped by WME and Brillstein Entertainment. Letscher is repped by APA and Sanders Armstrong Caserta Management.
Daniel London and Li Jun Li have been cast in MINORITY REPORT, the television adaptation of Steven Spielberg’s 2002 blockbuster by the same name. The project is set 10 years after the film ended and will follow one of the three Precogs as he struggles to lead a “normal” life, due to his visions of the future. London is previously credited with roles on Gotham, Manhattan, Black Box, and The Americans. Li previously appeared on The Following, Damages and Smash. London is repped by Don Buchwald & Associates and More/Medavoy Management. Li is repped by Nicolosi & Company and Schachter/Brown.
Jaimie Alexander will star as the female lead in BLINDSPOT, written by Martin Gero and directed by Mark Pellington. The project centers around Jane Doe (Alexander), a woman who finds herself at the center of an investigation after climbing out of a duffel bag in the middle of Times Square in New York City with her memory wiped and no clue as to what the extensive tattoos on her body mean. Alexander is repped by Atlas Artists and WME.
Cynthia McWilliams will co-star in Diana Son’s drama pilot LOVE IS A FOUR LETTER WORD. The drama centers around three diverse couple who put marriage to the test. McWilliams will play Tandi, a happily married wife and mother with difficulties conceiving a second child. She previously held roles for Real Husbands of Hollyood and Prison Break. McWilliams is repped by APA and Stewart Talent Agency.
Natalie Martinez will star in WARRIOR. Written and executive produced by David DiGilio, the magical martial arts drama centers on a damaged heroine who works undercover with physical and spiritual guidance from a mysterious arts master with the goal of bringing down an international crime lord. Phillip Noyce will direct and Walter Parkes and Laurie MacDonald will executive producer. Martinez has been previously credited with roles in Under the Dome and CSI:NY. Martinez is repped by WME and Atlas Artists.
S. Epatha Merkerson fhas been cast for a leading role in CHICAGO MED, the proposed spin-off of Chicago Fire. The series’ characters will first appear in episode 19 of Chicago Fire, similar to the hyprid Chicago PD and Chicago Fire. Merkerson will play Sharon Goodwin, the head of the hospital where the series is set. She previous spend 16 on the original Law & Order and is an Emmy award winning actress. Merkseron is repped by ICM Partners and McGowan Management.
Warren Christie is joining the cast of the firefighter drama CHICAGO FIRE, as a recurring with an option to become a regular next season. He will star as a new firefighter on the squad who happens to be a childhood friend of Lt Kelly Severide. He is repped by UTA and Play Management.
Eddie Cibrian, Josh Hopkins, Rory Scovel and Donald Faison have joined the UNTITLED MONICA POTTER PILOT. The project is loosely based on Monica Potter’s life, who stars as Bridget, a woman who wrangles her busy family life as well as her three ex-husbands, which proves to be difficult when she starts dating again. Cibrian will play Jason, Bridget’s first ex-husband – a slick professional gambler. Faison plays Bridget’s second ex-husband, the very earnest Kevin, who is positive and upbeat at all times, and a staunch protector of the environment who is also extremely wealthy by accident. Scovel plays Robert, Bridget’s third ex-husband – a pompous writer and college professor. Hopkins plays Tom, a veterinarian in the midst of mutual attraction with animal lover Bridget. Eka Darville, Erin Moriarty and Wil Traval have joined the cast of Marvel’s superhero series A.K.A. JESSICA JONES. Following a tragic ending to her short-lived time as a super hero, Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter) is rebuilding her personal life and career as a detective who works on cases involving people with extraordinary abilities in NYC. Darville will play Malcolm, Jessica’s neighbor whose own journey will intertwine with her quest. Moriarty has been cast as Hope, a young girl who becomes a client. Traval will play an NYPD cop who takes “protect and serve” very seriously. Moriarty is repped by ICM and 3 Arts Entertainment. Paradigm reps Darville. Traval is repped by The Van Johnson Company.
Elizabeth Mitchell and Goran Visnjic have joined the cast of CROSSING LINES. The series follows a squad of European law enforcement officers who fight the onslaught of international crime that followed the opening of borders by the European Union. Season 3 picks up six months after the conclusion of Season 2. After one of his top prosecutors vanishes, Dorn must reactivate the ICC team as the group struggles to re-establish its battered identity. Mitchell and Visnjic will play Carine Strand and Marco Corazza, new members of the elite team of officers. Mitchell is repped by Paradigm and Link Entertainment. WME and Management 360 reps Visnjic.
Jill Marie Jones will co-star on ASH VS. EVIL DEAD, the seuqel series to the Evil Dead horror film franchise. After the grisly murder of her partner, disgraced Michigan State Trooper Amanda Fisher (Jones) sets out to find anti-hero Ash (original series star Bruce Campbell) and prove his responsibility for the crime. But as she soon learns, Ash and his cohorts may be mankind’s only hope against the plague of Evil Dead. Jones is repped by Global Artists Agency and Link Entertainment.
Simon Merrells has been booked for an eight-episode stint on the drama DOMINION. The series is set in a postapocalyptic future in which an army of lower angels, assembled by the archangel Gabriel, has waged a war against archangel Michael and all of mankind. Merrells will play Julian, the cunning and powerful leader of New Delphi who will go to any lengths to protect his city. Merrells is repped by Conway van Gelder Grant and D2 Management.
Gillian Alexy has been cast as the female lead in the drama series OUTSIDERS. The series tells the story of the Farrell clan, a family of outsiders living in the Appalachia defend their way of life through any means necessary. The series is penned by Peter Mattei and produced by Peter Tolan and Paul Giamatti for Sony Pictures TV and Tribune Studios. Alexy will play G’Winn Farrell, a tough beauty and the protagonist’s confidante. Alexy has recently credited with roles on The Americans and Royal Pains. Alexy is repped by Gersh and Industry Entertainment.
John Hawkes will star in the indie pilot DR. DEL, produced by Katie Jacobs and Nick Wechslet. The project, inspired by Peter Hessler’s New Yorker piece by the same name, follows Del Canyon as he returns to his small hometown in the middle of nowhere to run his family’s apothecary. Hawkes is repped by Innovative Artists and Thruline Entertainment.
