“Pitch Perfect” Scribe Kay Cannon Set To Make Directorial Debut On “The Pact”



, perhaps best known for scripting Universal’s hit Pitch Perfect series, is gearing up to make her directorial debut on the -produced comedy .

Point Grey’s Rogen, , and are producing along with and . DMG Entertainment’s Chris Fenton is also producing, while Good Universe’s Chris Cowles, Joe Drake, and Nathan Kahane executive produce. Spencer Wong is overseeing for Good Universe, while Josh Fagen oversees for Point Grey.

The comedy was scripted by brothers and , along with , Hurwitz and Schlossberg. The pic follows three parents who set out to prevent their daughters from losing their virginities after they discover their daughters made a pact to lose their V-cards on prom night.

Cannon wrote both entries in the financially successful Pitch Perfect series and will return to script the third installment, which is once again being directed by Elizabeth Banks, who helmed the sequel. The Emmy-nominated scribe, who has won a Peabody award and three WGA Awards, worked as a writer and supervising on the critically acclaimed series 30 Rock. Since then, she’s worked on New Girl, Cristela, and co-produced the Tina Fey-led feature Baby Mama.
