Dominic Cooper stars as Jesse Custer, a reverend in a small Texas town, who becomes merged with a supernatural entity that escaped from Heaven, birthed from both an angel and a demon. Together with his ex-girlfriend Tulip (Ruth Negga) and an Irish vampire named Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun), the trio sets off to find God and find answers as to why he abandoned Heaven.
The show is based on the cult classic comic book series by Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon and will return with new episodes in 2018.
The series was developed by executive producers Rogen, Evan Goldberg and Sam Catlin, who also serves as the showrunner.
James Weaver, Neal H. Moritz, Ori Marmur, Vivian Cannon, Jason Netter and Ken F. Levin also serve as EPs.
The summer series premiered in May of 2016 and wrapped up Season 2 on September 11 of this year. Like its network mate and fellow coming book adaptation The Walking Dead, it also has its own after-show, Talking Preacher, hosted by Chris Hardwick.
