The project, which is at the pilot stage, is following original series stars Sasha Pieterse and Janel Parrish, as their characters Alison and Mona go off to a different town, but with its own idiosyncrasies.
Carson will play the role of Ava, described as a beautiful trendsetting blogger and coder, who strives to be a fashion icon.
That may sound like a perfectly put together character, but The Perfectionists logline would suggest otherwise: “Everything about the town of Beacon Heights seems perfect, from their top-tier college to their overachieving residents. But nothing in Beacon Heights is as it appears to be. The stress of needing to be perfect leads to the town’s first murder. Behind every Perfectionist is a secret, a lie and a needed alibi.”
The pilot was written by PLL creator and showrunner I Marlene King, who will serve as executive producer alongside Leslie Morgenstein, an EP on Pretty Little Liars as well as The Originals and The 100, and Gina Girolamo (The 100, The Originals).
Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists is produced by Alloy Entertainment and Long Lake Media in association with Warner Horizon Scripted Television.
In addition to The Perfectionists, Carson is rounding out her graduation from Disney Channel to Freeform with a role on Season 2 of the network’s Famous in Love. She is represented by WME.
