Fox’s Gary Newman has officially announced this morning that Prison Break is coming back to Fox as a limited series. The show is set several years after the original series, and catches up with Lincoln Burrows, Michael Scofield and a few memorable supporting characters. Paul Scheuring is currently writing the first episode and a show bible, and once completed is expected to be ordered straight to series.
Both Dominic Purcell and Wentworth Miller are returning, and the 10-episode mini-series is reported to ignore Michael Scofield’s end that took place in the series finale. Fox Television CEO Dana Walden says that, “The brothers and some of the iconic characters will be back, and it will address some questions that were set up at the end of the series for a new audience.”
