Queen Latifah is set to star opposite Jennifer Garner in Sony’s faith-based drama MIRACLES FROM HEAVEN. Based on the novel by Christy Beam, the story follows a young girl with a rare digestive disorder, who falls three stories, visits heaven, and returns, completely cured.
Tri-Star will release the pic, with Trouble with The Curve scribe Randy Brown adapting and Girl In Progress helmer Patricia Riggen directing. Grey’s Anatomy‘s Martin Henderson will also star.
Latifah most recently starred in the HBO biopic Bessie, playing legendary blues singer Bessie Smith. She’ll next lend her voice to the fifth installment of the Ice Age franchise, where she has portrayed Ellie the mammoth since the second outing. She’ll also return for Barbershop 3, reprising her role as Gina.
The news was first reported by The Hollywood Reporter.
