It was rumored back in July, but now the actress confirmed it herself at TIFF: Rachel McAdams is going to star opposite Benedict Cumberbatch in Marvel’s DOCTOR STRANGE.
She will most likely be playing Clea, an ally and love interest that neurosurgeon-turned-sorcerer-supreme Dr. Strange (Cumberbatch) meets in the Dark Dimension. Shooting is set to begin in November with Scott Derrickson directing a final script from Jon Spaihts.
McAdams was last seen on HBO’s second season of True Detective and with Jake Gyllenhaal in Southpaw. She is repped by WME and Magnolia Entertainment.
