Ralph Macchio & William Zabka Reignite Their Rivalry from “The Karate Kid” in Youtube Red’s “Cobra Kai” (Video)

Youtube Red has released a first-look teaser for their original series . Set thirty years after the events of the 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament depicted in 1984’s The Karate Kid,  the series focuses on Johny Lawrence reopening the Cobra Kai dojo, which causes his rivalry with Daniel LaRusso to be reignited.

Reprising their roles after more than 30 years, Ralph Macchio and William Zabka revive the old dojo in the new series from Youtube, Sony Pictures, and Overbrook Entertainment.

Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz, and Hayden Schlossberg wrote and executive produced the series, with Hurwitz and Schlossberg to direct most of the show. Susan Ekins also executive produces along with Will Smith, Caleeb Pinkett, and James Lassiter executive for Overbrook Entertainment in association with Sony Pictures Television Studios.
