Actors Reese Witherspoon and Nicole Kidman are teaming up with their production companies, Pacific Standard and Blossom Films, respectively, to develop TRULY MADLY GUILTY. They have optioned the film rights for the novel by Australian author Liane Moriarty.
The book takes place over the course of a weekend and details one fateful event that affects the characters — six adults and three children, as they realize we don’t appreciate how extraordinary our ordinary lives are until it’s too late.
This is not the first time Witherspoon and Kidman have worked with Moriarty. Their companies are currently in postproduction adapting Moriarty’s novel Big Little Lies as a limited series for HBO. It stars both Witherspoon and Kidman, as well as Shailene Woodley, Laura Dern, Zoe Kravitz, and Alexander Skaarsgard, and tells the story of three mothers as they become friends and grapple with each of their own struggles.
Witherspoon and Kidman will both produce the new film beside Bruna Papandrea of Pacific Standard and Per Saari of Blossom. It is not known yet if either actor will appear in the film.
Previously, Pacific Standard has produced hit films like Wild and Gone Girl, while Blossom produced The Rabbit Hole and is currently adapting The Silent Wife.
