“I’m very proud of the projects that Bruna and I have produced together,” said Witherspoon. “Bruna is a hard-working, extremely talented producer. I’m happy to further collaborate with her on the strong slate of Pacific Standard properties.”
Witherspoon will continue to head up Pacific Standard as Papandrea exits to start her own banner. The duo will continue to produce projects that are already in development at Pacific Standard, including Barbie and Ruth, the biopic about Barbie creator Ruth Handler, Opening Belle, an adaptation of Maureen Sherry’s novel, and Pale Blue Dot at Fox Searchlight.
“It’s been an amazing five years with Reese. I’m so proud of what the two of us have created together,” Papandrea said. “She’s such a talented and inspiring producing partner and I’m really excited that we’ll continue to collaborate on our many terrific on-going projects.”
In addition to the features Witherspoon and Papandrea have in the works, Pacific Standard has a lot going on in television. They are producing the HBO mini-series Big Little Lies, in which Witherspoon will star with Nicole Kidman and Laura Dern, and they will continue to develop television series under their overall deal at ABC.
