Jack Huston is being eyed for the lead role in the remake of THE CROW. Directed by Corin Hardy, the film is a remake of the 1994 Alex Proyas-directed adaptation of the graphic novel from James O’Barr.
The story follows a rock musician who, a year after being murdered while attempting to rescue his fiancee from thugs, comes back from the grave to get revenge. The late Brandon Lee starred in the original film version.
The remake has been in development for years, cycling through directors, writers, and potential lead actors. Production is now expected to begin in the spring from a script by Cliff Dorfman.
Juan Carlos Fresnadillo and Stephen Norrington were previously attached to direct, and Bradley Cooper, Mark Wahlberg, Luke Evans and Norman Reedus have all, at one point, been attached to the project.
Huston is currently filming another remake – Ben-Hur – in which he stars as the titular nobleman for Paramount and MGM. He will next be seen as Mr. Wickham in Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, and comedic horror version of Jane Austen’s beloved novel.
