With Altitude Film Sales handling the distribution at AFM next month, the sci-fi psychological thriller GATEWAY 6 is ready to go, especially now that Rhys Ifans and Ed Skrein are attached to star. Malachi Smyth’s script was on last year’s Brit List and will be the feature directorial debut for Oscar nominee Tanel Toom. Ben Pullen and Matthew James Wilkenson are producing with Pippa Cross executive producing.
The film is set on a futuristic, war-torn Earth, and group of soldiers are stranded on Gateway 6, an abandoned base where the men wait for either help from their comrades or death from their enemies. As time drags on, the soldiers must not only fight to stay alive, but fight to stay sane.
Ifans has a recurring role on the TV reboot of Sherlock Holmes’ stories, Elementary, as Sherlock’s brother, Mycroft. He will also be seen in the upcoming Snowden biopic. He is repped by UTA and Brillstein Entertainment.
Ed Skrein is best known for his recent role in The Transporter Refueled. He will very soon be best known for portraying Ajax in the upcoming Deadpool. He is repped by CAA.
