…and there’s even more about LARRY’S KIDNEY in the news today! Richard Linklater has signed on to direct the film, whose stars Will Ferrel and Zach Galifianakis were just announced earlier today. This rounds out quite an interesting team, and is definitely raising some intriguing questions.
Linklater recently directed “Before Midnight” and “Bernie,” and has a slew of films in development, including “School of Rock 2.” He’s been jumping between genres with much success, so this collaboration should give us something we haven’t seen before, even if we don’t know what exactly that is.
The project follows the true story of Daniel Rose and his long lost cousin, Larry Feldman, who calls, after several decades of silence, to ask Daniel if he’ll go on a jaunt to China for Larry’s kidney transplant and possible marriage. Galifianakis will play black sheep Larry to Ferrell’s Daniel, and it’s sure to be a strange twisted comedy that will be hard not to watch.
