Ricky Gervais is in talks to star in THE MUPPETS 2 (hopefully they come up with better title) in a role approximating the importance of Jason Siegel’s role in the 2011 film “The Muppets”.
The story is being kept under wraps, but is said to be a european centric, not unlike the original second muppet movie “The Great Muppet Caper.” If cast, Gervais would play the human lead, but it’s unclear on what exactly that is at this time.
Producing will be David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman.
Gervais’ last live action role as in 2009’s “The Invention of Lying” which he co-wrote/directed with Matthew Robinson.
He is repped by WME.
