Riz Ahmed has joined the cast of NIGHTCRAWLER alongside Rene Russo, Jake Gyllenhaal and Bill Paxton. The story follows a young man (Gyllenhaal) who discovers the night time world of freelance crime journalism in Los Angeles. Ahmed will play his driver as well as his protege. Hopefully the role is meatier than that sounds because Ahmed is an actor to watch given in his wonderful performance in “Four Lions.”
Dan Gilroy (“The Bourne Legacy”) will make his directorial debut from a script he penned. Producing will be Gilroy, Glyllenhaal, Jennifer Fox, Michel Litvak and David Lancaster.
In addition to “Four Lions,” Ahmed has also appeared in Neil Marshall’s “Centurion” and can be seen currently in “Closed Circuit.” Next on his slate is a crime drama called “Violent Talent.”
He is repped by CAA.
