Rob Cohen has been set to direct long in development action-adventure project CRASH BANDITS, which sadly isn’t about Crash Bandicoot. Instead the project will follow two rival treasure hunters, who specialize in old plane wrecks, who must race against each other through the Amazon jungle in search of the ultimate prize. Whatever that ultimate prize may be. I imagine it’s an orgy where everything is cool and not weird and no one gets left out. Probably not though.
Cohen will also do a rewrite of Michael Stokes original script, no doubt throwing in more action whether or not it’s relevant to the story. Producing will be Johnny Martin, David Raines, Kevin King and Mark Canton.
Cohen last directed “Alex Cross” (yikes) but is best known for directing “Stealth” (double yikes) and “The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor” (I give up). He’s also currently attached to direct a remake of “Monster Squad” which I hope to go is no longer in the works.
He is repped by WME.

While Robster has definitely helmed some yikes-worthy films — I think it would be more fair to say he’s best known for the original The Fast and The Furious and The Skulls… Not that either were “great” films — but they made a buncha money and put him on the A List.
