Robert De Niro and Edgar Ramirez have joined the cast of HANDS OF STONE, which tells the story of famed Panamanian boxer Robert Duran, who beat Sugar Ray Leonard in their first boxing match, but suspiciously called it quits in the middle of their second match. Ramirez will play Roberto Duran while De Niro will play his trainer.
Producing will be Ben Silverman and Jonathan Jakubowicz.
De Niro was last in “Silver Linings Playbook” and will next grace the silver screen in “The Big Wedding”. Ramirez was last in “Zero Dark Thirty” and will next be in “Libertador”.
De Niro and Ramirez are repped by CAA.
