Robert De Niro is set to star in action/thriller BUS 757. The story follows a casino card dealer who puts together a crew to simultaneously rob a bank and hijack a bus full of hostages to use as collateral. De Niro is set to play “The Pope,” a casino owner with shady dealings whose assets are the target of the heist. Stephen Cyrus Sepher wrote the script and will also star in the project.
De Niro is known for playing characters with shady business dealings in classics like “The Godfather: Part II,” “The Untouchables,” “Goodfellas,” and “Casino.” His more recent projects include roles in “Silver Linings Playbook,” “Last Vegas,” and “Grudge Match.” He also has a plethora of projects in the works that includes comedy “The Intern” opposite Anne Hathaway, David O. Russell’s drama “Legacy of Secrecy” with Leonardo DiCaprio as well as Martin Scorsese’s crime/drama “The Irishman,” the story of a mob hit man who recalls his possible involvement in the slaying of Jimmy Hoffa.
De Niro is repped by CAA.
