Robert Downey Jr. is expected to make a fly by appearance as Tony Stark in SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING. Downey Jr. will join Tom Holland for the Sony-Marvel collaboration.
Downey Jr.’s Iron Man and Holland’s Spider-Man have already been seen working together in the recent Civil War: Captain America trailers, and now the duo’s relationship will spill over into Spidey’s movie. No details have been revealed as to what, specifically, Downey Jr.’s involvement in the movie will be, but he will be joining a cast that includes Marisa Tomei, Zendaya, Tony Revolori, and Laura Harrier. Michael Keaton was previously in talks to take on a villainous role in the pic, but the deal never materialized.
Jon Watts will direct the reboot with a script written by John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein. Kevin Feige and Amy Pascal will serve as producers. The movie will be released on July 7, 2017.
Downey Jr. is repped by CAA and Todd Shemarya Artists.
