Robert Pattinson may be teaming up with director Harmony Korine for a new film project. Details on the ground are few and far between but reportedly, Korine is writing a gangster film for Pattinson. Korine is already set to helm an untitled crime project with John Lesher of DCM Productions attached to produce, but, again, there’s no telling if these two projects are one and the same. Either way, this project would mark another departure from Pattinson’s “Twilight” days. Although, you could argue the Cullens were a sort of crime family, but I digress.
Pattinson has been looking to break out of his teen idol mold lately by starring in a few indie projects and expanding his horizons. He starred in David Cronenberg’s thriller “Cosmopolis” before turning to Cronenberg’s “Maps to the Stars” and David Michôd’s “The Rover.” Pattinson was recently cast in Brady Corbet’s drama “The Childhood of a Leader” with Juliette Binoche and Tim Roth. Korine is the writer/director who brought us “Spring Breakers,” so it’s a bit of an odd pairing but, nevertheless, everything Pattinson touches seems to turn to gold and I’m sure this project will be no different.
