Map To The Stars actors Robert Pattinson and Mia Wasikowska may team up again, this time in the comedy-western DAMSEL. The project hails from David Zellner and Nathan Zellner. Pattinson has already begun production on the feature with Wasikowska in talks to join him.
Since winning a rabid fanbase after starring in YA franchise Twilight, Pattinson has focused his career on smaller art-house fare such as features Cosmopolis, The Rover, and Map To The Stars with Wasikowska. This latest project sees him in a “Western era comedy about a man trying to marry the woman of his dreams.”
Wasikowska jumpstarted her career with the an impressive performance as the young gymnast Sophie opposite Gabriel Byrnes in HBO drama In Treatment. She has since built a resume with a wide range of projects that includes the blockbuster Alice In Wonderland, period drama Madame Bovary, family drama the Kids Are All Right, and Jim Jarmusch’s modern-day vampire drama Only Lovers Left Alive.
The Zellners are best known for last year’s Kumiko, The Treasure Hunter which followed a jaded Japanese woman who discovers a hidden copy of Fargo on VHS, believing it to be a treasure map indicating the location of the large case of money. The pair will co-direct Damsel which is looking to premiere next year.
