The David Michod-helmed thriller THE ROVER just got a huge boost in star power as “Twilight” star Robert Pattinson is now set to star in the film. Guy Pearce is on board as well.
The film’s story follows a man who goes on a mission to retrieve his stolen car in the Australian outback, which contains something invaluable to him. Pattinson will play a character named Reynolds, but it is unclear if this is the man whose car has been stolen. It is uncertain what role Pearce will assume.
Pattinson, the teenage heart-throb at the center of Stephanie Meyer’s adapted “Twilight” films, has been on a hot streak as of late. The final installment of the series, “Breaking Dawn Part 2” is awaiting release as is David Cronenberg’s limo-drama “Cosmopolis”, in which Pattinson plays the lead role. He was just attached to star in the war pic “Mission: Blacklist” as well.
Pearce, who is coming off the Sci-Fi thriller “Lockout”, will be starring in this summer’s highly anticipated films “Prometheus” and “Lawless”.
David Linde and Liz Watts will produce.
Pattinson is repped by WME and Curtis Brown Group. Pearce is repped by CAA and Independent Talent Group.
