Robin Wright has been tapped to star in the highly anticipated UNTITLED BLADE RUNNER SEQUEL with Harrison Ford and Ryan Gosling.
Ford is set to reprise his role as Detective Rick Deckard from the original 1982 film directed by Ridley Scott. No word yet on Wright’s role, but the film will continue several decades after the original ended in 2019 Los Angeles.
Blade Runner is based on the Philip K. Dick’s 1968 sci-fi novel, Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? The story follows Ford’s Deckard as he tracks down genetically engineered replicants that have illegally escaped to Earth in order to extend their life span.
Co-writer of the original, Hampton Fancher will write the story for the sequel with Michael Green. Denis Villeneuve is set to direct. The untitled sequel is slated to be released on Jan. 12, 2018.
Wright currently stars in the Netflix series House of Cards for which she won a Golden Globe in 2014. Her recent film credits include Everest and A Most Wanted Man starring the late Philip Seymour Hoffman. She can be seen next on the big screen in highly anticipated comic book pic Wonder Woman.
She is repped by CAA.
