Ron Livingston has joined the cast of THE 5TH WAVE. The YA adaptation begins during a time when the human race is on the verge of extinction. One of the last survivors on earth, an extraordinary young woman (played by Chloe Grace Moretz), goes on a mission to track down her younger brother who was abducted by the extraterrestrial creatures colonizing Earth. She is forced to align herself with a young man who holds a secret, and together, they must save mankind. Livingston has been cast as Moretz’s father, Oliver, who tries to protect her from the deadly alien attacks. Susannah Grant is adapting the Rick Yancey novel, with J. Blakeson directing.
Livingston got his start in comedies like Swingers and Office Space, before going on to meatier roles in The Time Traveler’s Wife, Parkland, and the miniseries Band of Brothers, and the HBO crime/drama Boardwalk Empire. Next up, Livingston is set to play two larger than life characters – Paul Revere in the TV pilot We Hate Paul Revere, and Elvis Presley in Shangri-La Suite, a drama about two mentally unstable teens who go on a mission to kill Elvis.
