Academy Award-nominated actress Rosamund Pike and Golden Globe-nominated actor Daniel Bruhl are in talks to join the terror drama ENTEBBE at Working Title. Based on a true story, the film centers on Operation Entebbe and the hijacking of a Paris-bound airplane by terrorists from the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine and the German Revolutionary Cells. Once they’re officially signed on, Pike and Bruhl will play the German hijackers.
Narcos executive producer Jose Padilha is set to direct the script by Gregory Burke. Tim Bevan and Liza Chasin from Working Title will produce with Kate Solomon. Participant Media is set to co-finance and will serve as co-producer. The film’s title is based on the rescue mission of the hostages carried out by the Israel Defense Forces at Entebbe Airport in Uganda.
Pike is currently filming Hostiles with Christian Bale. She has a full slate of films in the works including HHhH, High Wire Act and A United Kingdom opposite David Oyelowo, which is set to premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in September.
Bruhl is probably best known for his role in Quentin Tarantino’s Inglorious Basterds but has starred in numerous films. He was recently seen in Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War as the villain Baron Zemo and can be seen next in The Zookeeper’s Wife as well as the J.J. Abrams produced sci-fi thriller God Particle.
She is repped by CAA, United Agents, and Magnolia Management.
