Rosamund Pike is being approached for the female lead in GONE GIRL, opposite Ben Affleck. Reportedly, she’s expected to take the role. The project follows a husband (Affleck) who becomes the prime suspect when his wife (Pike) goes missing on their 5th anniversary. Tyler Perry and Neil Patrick Harris are also being “eyed” for supporting roles.
Gillian Flynn adapted her own novel for David Fincher to direct. Reese Witherspoon, Bruna Papandrea and Leslie Dixon will produce.
Pike was last seen in the purely awesome “Jack Reacher” and will next appear in Edgar Wright’s “The World’s End.” The last time Perry starred in something that wasn’t a part of his company (nay, EMPIRE) was 2012’s disappointing “Alex Cross.” He’s rumored to reprise the role in the potential sequel “Double Cross.” Skipping over his awesome TV work (“Doogie Howser” for life!) he hasn’t been in the best of movies. He was last in “The Smurfs” of which he’ll reprise his role in next week’s “The Smurfts 2.”
