Rosario Dawson is set to return for the second season of Netflix’s smash hit DAREDEVIL. The Marvel series, which debuted in April, was massively successful, prompting the streaming network to order a second season. Dawson portrayed fan-favorite character Claire Temple, a nurse who frequently aided Charlie Cox’s masked hero, tending to his wounds. The actress has signed a larger TV deal that will allow her to appear in any of the other Marvel Netflix series, including AKA Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and The Defenders.
It’s currently unknown if Claire’s romantic involvement with Cox’s Matt Murdock will continue in season two. The season one cast included Vincent D’Onofrio, Deborah Ann Woll, Elden Henson, Scott Glenn, Bob Gunton, Toby Leonard Moore, Vondie Curtis Hall, and Ayelet Zurer, with no word yet if the entire ensemble will return.
Regarding Dawson’s deal, Executive Producer/Head of Marvel TV Jeph Loeb said:
“After working with Rosario in the first season, we knew instantly that we had to have her back for our second. Claire Temple proved a fan favorite in Season 1, and we can’t wait for fans to see all the plans we have for her next.”
Dawson recently starred in Chris Rock’s dramedy Top Five and returned for the Sin City sequel, Sin City: A Dame to Kill For. She’ll next appear in the comedy Puerto Ricans in Paris and return for Kevin Smith’s Clerks III.
