Russell Crowe has snatched up the titular father role in FATHERS AND DAUGHTERS. The story follows a famous New York novelist (Crowe) raising his daughter as a single father and how their dynamics and relationships change as she grows into an adult. The movie will alternate between 1980 and present day with the daughter struggling as an adult. The producers are circling a female lead, that at one point had a offer out to Amy Adams. No word if she’s still being pursued.
Brad Desch wrote the script that Gabriele Muccino (“Playing for Keeps”) will direct. Producing will be Sheryl Clarke, Craig J. Flores and Nicolas Chartier. Executive producing will be Keith Rodger and Romilda De Luca.
Crowe was last seen ghost-dadding it up in “Man of Steel.” He’ll soon appear in “Noah.”
He is repped by WME.
