Ryan Murphy is bringing another anthology series to FX called AMERICAN CRIME STORY. FX has given the project a straight-to-series order, starting with a 10 episode run. The new project, called “American Crime Story: The People Vs. O.J. Simpson,” will start with one of the most notorious cases in recent memory – the O.J. Simpson murder trial. Murphy will direct from a script penned by Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski. Brad Falchuk, Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson will executive produce alongside Murphy. FXP and Fox 21 developed the project.
Similar to “American Horror Story,” this series will focus on a different crime story each season. The first season of the series will focus on the Simpson trial from the perspective of the lawyers, examining the behind the scenes workings of the court – from both sides of the case. There’s no word yet on who may be cast in the series, which will start filming early next year.
Murphy is repped by CAA.
